Obert Chiropractic Center's Frequently Asked Questions

Why Chiropractic?

  • It's non-invasive. (No needles, no knives, no drugs.) Minimal diagnostic procedures outside of physical examination and X-rays in office.
  • Chiropractors have much more training and experience in diagnosing, managing, and treating musculoskeletal problems than most general practitioners and physical therapists. (You are seeing a specialist when you see a chiropractor.)
  • Immediate access to specialist level management and treatment of your condition. You do not have to wait for weeks for testing, test results, referral to another specialist, followed by referral for treatment.
  • Management of chronic pain syndromes without medication.

What happens on their first visit?

All patients begin with a consultation to determine if they are a good candidate for chiropractic care. Depending on the situation the patient will then receive an orthopedic, neurological, and spinal examination. X-rays will be taken if the examination yields positive findings. Treatment is not usually performed on the first visit, except in the case that the patient is in severe pain or in a circumstance in which the patient cannot return for several days.
On the second visit (the Report of Findings), the patient is shown his/her X-rays and their condition is discussed. They are presented with a treatment plan which outlines length and frequency of care and any other therapy that will be utilized. Treatment will begin on this visit.

How much will it cost?

The average cost of the initial visit, including the initial examination and one series of x-rays, is $125. The average cost of a chiropractic adjustment is $30. The average cost of an adjustment and therapy is approximately $56. Treatment plans usually range from about 8 visits to 20 visits depending on the severity and length of the condition of injury. The average patient usually completes a treatment plan that consists of 14 visits over a 6 week time frame, which is often followed by regular aftercare. Patients may continue with bi-monthly treatments if managing a long-standing chronic problem. Preventative care could involve treatment once every 4-8 weeks in order to maintain health through chiropractic care.
We accept almost all insurance plans and are preferred provided for many. A plan called PCD (Preferred Chiropractic Doctor) is available to any patient who does not have insurance, or choose not to use their insurance. This plan provides a 25% discount on all services.

What else should a prospective patient know?
